Ashkenazi: Iron Dome May be Moved

Speaking Tuesday, IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi said at a meeting of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that it was possible that the first installations of the Iron Dome anti-missile defense system would be deployed in the south, as has been expected.
The system, which will be ready for its initial deployment in November, was first developed as a response to the ongoing Hamas rocket attacks against the Negev, but speaking before the Committee, Ashkenazi said that they would “not necessarily be set up in the south.” He did not specify any alternative sites.
