Saudi police shoot and wound three Shiite protesters

A march of between 600 and 800 Shiite demonstrators in Al-Qateef, in Saudi Arabia's oil-rich Eastern Province, ended in bloodshed when Saudi security forces "started shooting at the protesters, and three of them were wounded," a witness tells AFP.
The three wounded, all men, were hospitalised but their injuries were "moderate," says the witness, requesting anonymity for his safety. The source adds that the shooting continued for about 10 minutes and around 200 policemen were present.
The protesters were demanding the release of nine Shiite prisoners, the witness says.
