FAKE FREEZE: Netanyahu reportedly agrees to partial freeze of settlements

RAMALLAH, Oct 21 (KUNA) -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is willing to freeze government-funded construction of settlements in the West Bank, the Israeli Haaretz daily said Friday.
It added that Netanyahu will freeze government construction ventures only, and not projects funded by private companies or housing organizations.
This initiative aims to allow resumption of the peace negotiations that have been stalled since a year ago, the daily noted.
However, the Palestinians reject the partial cessation of settlement activity and demand full stoppage of these ventures in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, as a term for resuming the negotiations.
