And a prominent Bedouin smuggler in the Sinai peninsula told TIME that Bedouin are now in control of the two towns closest to the Gaza Strip, and that they planned to press on to attack the Suez Canal if Mubarak does not step down. He also said that police stations in the south Sinai would be attacked if Bedouin prisoners were not released.

Bedouin protestors in the Sinai took over a police station and seized weapons, eyewitnesses reported, according to al-Arabiya.

Twelve people were killed in exchanges of fire between Bedouins and Egyptian security forces in the northern Sinai peninsula. Armed men attacked government buildings in Rafah and El-Arish, and in response the Egyptian military sent forces to the area.(Ynet)

Reports coming in about a large explosion at the border in Rafah. Egyptian military apparently en route. This follows serious unrest in Al Arish where Government buildings are on fire.

 

Rafah crossing:
Egyptian armored vehicles and security forces mobilized and left their posts along the border with Gaza and opened heavy fire at angry Egyptian citizens who want to break into the Gazan side of the border, also there are sound of explosions along the border .

Updates from Rafah crossing- Egypt-Gaza border:
Gunfire are still being heard in the Egyptian side, a bit far from the border in the distance, but no sign of breaching the border as Palestinian security are on high alert and safeguarding the Gaza side of the border.
