Asked if the US was drawing up plans in the event of Mubarak being overthrown, Gibbs replied: "There are a robust series of meetings being held on a whole host of issues right now," in what is not his finest moment as White House press secretary.Asked why the briefing was delayed for several hours, Gibbs says: "We were delayed for a whole host of reasons ... we were monitoring any and all actions that were coming out of the country and will continue to do so."
Asked who from the administration has been in touch with the Egyptian regime, Gibbs denies that Biden was one of them.
