GAZA, (PIC)-- Leadership of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) has called for an urgent international decision declaring the besieged Gaza Strip a disaster zone, urging the Palestinian unity government to bring the world up-to-date on the heavy damages brought by the ongoing Israeli aggression. “All the Palestinian and Islamic factions have become, more than ever before, compelled to pool resources and to draw power from the spirit of unity and cooperation generated throughout our Palestinian heroic history,” member of PLO leadership, Yasser al-Wadia, said in a press statement Saturday. “The fate of our injured civilians, refugee families, and misplaced children depends on how far we will be able to grasp the true meaning of unity and reconciliation at this very critical stage,” he added. The PLO leader has urged the Palestinian leadership, both nationwide and overseas, to immediately step in so as to halt the Gaza tragedy, lift the siege, and make Palestinians’ dream of freedom come true. Wadiya, who is also the Head of the Coalition of Independent Figures, dubbed the Gaza tragedy a “bloody disaster” that is re-writing the history of an entire nation precisely through the very resilience, sacrifices, and even blood of its own people. “Unity is going to be the key to rehabilitate all of our fair and legitimate rights”, Wadiya concluded. |
