GAZA, (PIC)-- The Palestinian government in Gaza strongly denounced the Israeli wanton attack on the naval police headquarters north of the Gaza Strip on Monday which led to the killing of one policeman and the injury of many others.
In a press release, spokesman for the government Taher Al-Nunu stated that the government of premier Ismail Haneyya contacted Egyptian official in the wake of the Israeli attack to put them in the picture of Israel's treachery.
Spokesman Nunu stressed that Israel should be aware of testing the patience of the Palestinian people and their resistance in Gaza, and stop addressing its internal crises at the expense of the Palestinian blood.
During the past two weeks, 16 Palestinians were killed and dozens were wounded in Israeli sudden air raids on different Gaza areas, while the Palestinian resistance retaliated by launching counterattacks leading to the death of one Jewish settler and the injury of many others.
For its part, the Palestinian interior ministry condemned the Israeli attack on its naval police as a barbaric criminal act and warned that Israel would suffer the consequences of its crimes.
It stated that the killing of a policeman while on duty is a war crime punishable by international law and called for enforcing that law against Israel.
