EL AVIV, Israel (Ma'an) -- Israel's internal security minister says he fears another political assassination targeting an Israeli official, 16 years after premier Yitzhak Rabin was shot to death by a right-wing assailant.
Yitzhak Aharonovitch was responding in the Knesset, Israel's parliament, to questions about a series of hate crimes against "leftists and Arabs", the Israeli news site Ynet reported Wednesday.
"As for the possibility of another political murder – the fear exists. It is my job to be concerned," he was quoted as saying. Authorities "must remain vigilant. This fear applies to the entire political spectrum."
