Abbas Makes All Efforts to Implement Reconciliation Agreement, Says Erekat

CAIRO, November 23, 2011 (WAFA) – PLO Executive Committee Member, Saeb Erekat, Wednesday told WAFA that President Mahmoud Abbas is making every possible effort to implement the reconciliation agreement between Fatah and Hamas.

Erekat, who is accompanying Abbas during his visit to Egypt, said Abbas will meet Hamas leader Khaled Mishal on Thursday to discuss the reconciliation agreement, in the hope of ending the internal Palestinian division once and for all.

“Abbas has stressed in all his meetings that national reconciliation is the top priority, and frankly, if we Palestinians do not help ourselves, no-one will help us,” added Erekat.
