Jordanian “Miles of Smiles” delegation arrives in Gaza Thursday


AMMAN, (PIC)-- Trade Union sources in Amman said that they expect the Jordanian delegation participating in the “Miles of Smiles” aid convoy, which comprises delegations from various parts of the world, to reach Gaza on Thursday.

The sources said that the Jordanian participation is to show support for the besieged people of Gaza and that the delegation of 32 comprises the Yarmouk Nashid group which will participate in the Eid festivities.

The convoy carries with it medicines and medical supplies to help alleviate shortages in the Gaza Strip. They are also taking with them wheel chairs, electric wheelchairs and special cars to transport disabled persons in addition to sports equipment used in physiotherapy.

This is the seventh time the Jordanian delegation, headed by Murad al-Adaileh, participates in the “Miles of Smiles” aid convoy. About 100 activists are taking part in the aid convoy from different countries, including Kuwai, Bahrin Algeria, Jordan, France and the U.K. They convoy aims to share the festivities of Eid al-Adha with the besieged people of Gaza.
