HEBRON, November 20, 2011 (WAFA) – A Jewish settler Sunday, while crossing the main Jerusalem-Hebron road, opened fire randomly at a Palestinian funeral in Beit Ummar, a town north of Hebron, according to local sources.
Spokesman of the National Committee against the Wall and settlement in Beit Ummar, Mohammed Awad told WAFA that the Palestinian mourners responded by throwing stones at the settler who was firing his gun at them randomly.
When Israeli forces arrived at the scene, they started firing tear gas at the Palestinians, who were attending the Funeral, causing dozens of suffocation cases among them.
He added that soldiers re-closed the entrance of the town, preventing residents from entering or leaving it.
One of the soldiers fired a tear gas bomb inside a Palestinian vehicle belonging to Ibrahim Ibregit, causing him to suffocate severely, then the soldiers took over his car and used it as a shield during the confrontations with the Palestinians, he said.
Soldiers also stormed into two Palestinian houses, using the roof as a base to shoot at Palestinians and forced the owners of the shops, located along the road, to close them.Palestine News & Info Agency - WAFA
