RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- At least 14 Palestinian journalists and news reporters were killed while dozens sustained severe wounds in 30 days of massive Israeli attacks on the densely-populated Gaza Strip, the Palestinian Youth Media Assembly reported.
The assembly slammed in a statement on Thursday the ongoing Israeli crimes perpetrated against Palestinian civilians and journalists.
“Such attacks will never succeed in severing the chord that links us, Palestinian journalists, together. It is a real push to carry out our professional and ethical missions in the very best way we can. Such terror policies have never been a source of fear to the committed Palestinian journalist,” the Youth Assembly said.
The group called on all international and regional media institutions, most notably the International Federation of Journalists, Reporters without Borders, and the Federation of Arab Journalists to assume their responsibilities vis-à-vis the Palestinian journalists and provide them with the shield needed to face up to such Israeli crimes.
The Youth Assembly further called on international press groups to assume their responsibilities and work on providing Palestinian journalists with international protection.
