South Africa’s Representative: “Justice Will Eventually Win and Palestinians will Gain their Freedom”

RAMALLAH, August 7, 2014 (WAFA) – The South African Ambassador to Palestine Professor M W Makalima, said on Thursday “justice will eventually win and the Palestinian people will gain their freedom.”
During a meeting with the Palestinian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Asian, African and Australian Affairs, held in the MFA office in Ramallah, Makalima cited the words of the late South African President, Nelson Mandela, “In the end we must remember that no amount of rules or their enforcement will defeat those who struggle with justice on their side.”
He said the Government of South Africa has allocated US$ 1 million as immediate humanitarian relief for people affected by the Israeli aggression in battered Gaza, aside from dedicating two hospitals in South Africa to providing medical treatment to Palestinian children wounded during the aggression.
Makalima said that his country will also send emergency medical assistance, including medical drugs and equipments, along with the South African medical team bound for Gaza.
He also expressed his condolences on behalf of his country and government to the Palestinian victims of Israel’s aggression on Gaza.
Makalima reiterated his country’s support for the struggle of the Palestinian people and their right to end the occupation, expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people in their struggle to gain freedom and independence.
