The Israeli army's spokesperson said on twitter that Israeli troops had come under fire on the Israeli side of the border, while Lebanese military sources said seven Israeli troops had crossed into Lebanon before being shot at.

The Israeli spokesperson said no Israeli soldiers were injured. Lebanese military sources said no Lebanese soldiers were injured, but some media reports said one Lebanese soldier was hurt during the exchange.

The incident happened in South Lebanon's Wazzani River area.

UNIFIL said shooting was heard around 7 a.m. but did not say whether anyone was hurt.
