DAMASCUS, (PIC)-- Political bureau member of Hamas Ezzet Al-Resheq has criticized the British judiciary for endorsing the deportation of Sheikh Raed Salah, the leader of the Islamic movement in 1948 occupied Palestine, despite his proven innocence of charges leveled against him in London.
He said in a statement on his Facebook page on Sunday that the ruling ran contrary to the democratic values championed by the British government and proves its blatant bias in favor of Israel.
Resheq noted that the British government had recently amended its laws to allow visit of former Israeli foreign minister Tzipi Livni to London without being prosecuted for war crimes.
The defense team of Sheikh Salah would appeal the decision on Monday, a press release by the Islamic movement on Sunday said.
