Palestine News & Info Agency - WAFA

GAZA, November 4, 2011 (WAFA) – The Israeli military navy Friday took over the two Canadian and Irish boats, called “Freedom Waves to Gaza,” which were heading to Gaza to break the blockade, following Commander-in-Chief of the Israeli Occupation Forces, Gaby Ashkenazi ‘s orders to seize and prevent them from reaching the strip, according to Israeli military sources.

Unofficial Israeli military sources said the passengers, who include people from five countries, including Palestinians from 1948, didn’t confront the Israeli navy and they were led to Ashdod port.

The nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) Network denounced this attack and said in a statement that it is concerned about the safety of the 27 passengers whom they lost connection with.

It considered this attack part of the Israeli crimes against Palestinians and those in solidarity with them, as well as a flagrant violation of all the international treaties.

It called on the international community, especially human rights organizations to take immediate and urgent actions in order to ensure the safety of the passengers and to release them.

NGOs Network also called on the international community to immediately interfere and end the illegal and immoral Israeli siege imposed on the Gaza Strip.
