In Gaza, eyewitnesses told the Palestinian state news wire Wafa that Israeli warplanes fired at least four missiles toward a building in the al-Sudaniya district of Gaza City, the same region targeted on Friday. The strike killed Mohammed al-Kilani, a man in his twenties, and injured four others.
One of the injuries was described as “very dangerous.”
Three of the injured Palestinians were taken to Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya for treatment, while the more serious case was transported to al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.
According to Israeli news media, the airstrike also knocked out electrical power for more than 100,000 people. The Israeli daily Ha’aretz quotes Hamas in saying al-Kilani was a police officer.
In the West Bank, Wafa reported that eight Palestinians had been arrested by the Israeli army, but did not specify names or details except that 27-year-old Abdullah al-Shalaldeh was arrested in Sa'eer and 23-year-old journalist Ra'ed Ratib al-Sharif was arrested in the Wadi al-Haryeh region of Hebron city.
Both were taken to unknown locations.
The Israeli army raided the one of ex-prisoner Ya’acoub Adnan Zayd al-Kilani in the middle of the night, rifled through his belongings, and warned him of the conditions of release. He was told not to leave his town of Ya’bad, south of Jenin, and threatened with re-imprisonment if he participated in any “activities.”
Two Palestinian men from the villages of al-Shawawreh and Janata, just east of Bethlehem, were summoned to see the Israeli general security service Shin Bet. Majd Mohammed Hamdan, 28, was delivered a summons to appear at the Etzion settlement south of Bethlehem within the week.
In Janata, Israeli troops delivered a summons to Yassin Issa al-Arouj after raiding his home.
