Khudari: Israel's justifications for Gaza siege are gone

GAZA, (PIC)-- Head of the popular campaign against the siege Jamal Al-Khudari said the appeals for ending the blockade on the Gaza Strip are legal and ethical, and no more justifications are left for Israel to persist in its inhuman siege.

In a press release, Khudari emphasized that the release of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit and the ongoing truce in the area eliminated all pretexts used by Israel to justify its unjust blockade on Gaza, so this situation should be a catalyst for the international community to make practical steps towards pressuring Israel to end its siege.

He added that away from Israel's claims, its blockade on Gaza must end and not be associated with any other file because it is a mass punishment and violates the Geneva conventions, the universal declaration of human rights and the international law in general.

Khudari noted that the movement of individuals and goods at Gaza commercial crossings are still restricted affecting and undermining all aspects of life in the Strip.
