RAMALLAH, September 24, 2011 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Salam Fayyad Saturday praised the peaceful character of the public rallies of the past few days, while condemning the Israeli army’s killing of a Palestinian in a village near Nablus on Friday, according to statement released Saturday.
Fayyad said the peaceful rallies “reflect the deep understanding and national concern of our people not to be dragged to the cycle of violence, which would give us a chance to expose the true nature of (Israeli) settlers’ terrorism and the oppression of the occupiers.”
The prime minister also condemned the killing of Issam Odeh, from the village of Qusra, south of Nablus, who was shot dead on Friday by an Israeli army force during a raid of the village.
