Fatah: Taking Over Jerusalemite Properties Declaration of War against Holy City

RAMALLAH, November 20, 2011 (WAFA) - Palestinian National Liberation Movement ,Fatah, Sunday considered the Israeli government granting the settlements’ associations the right to take over Jerusalemite properties a declaration of war against the holy city of Jerusalem and a dangerous stage in Judaizing all that belong to Palestinians in East Jerusalem.

Osama al-Qawasmi, Fatah spokesperson described, in a press release issued by Fatah office of information and culture, this Israeli decision as “political insanity, ” saying “The Israeli government’s violations of the Palestinian national rights and the international law and its absolute rejection to recognize the Palestinian people’s rights reached the extent of political madness.”

He added that the Israeli government’s granting the green light to the settlements’ associations to seize Palestinian heritage, cultural sites and Jerusalemite houses affirms its adherence to the continuation of settlement activities in addition to confiscation and occupation of Palestinian land as an approach, as well as it proves its absolute refusal of peace in the region.

He said that the Israeli government's call for resuming negotiations aims to cover its daily crimes against Palestinians.

He stressed that rights can’t be cancelled through its De Facto policy or through its attempts to impose the Israeli vision on the Palestinian people.

“There is not one single Palestinian who will accept occupation and settlement activities no matter how long it continues and there will not be a peaceful just peace in the region if Palestinians don’t gain their rights.”

Ahmad Rweidi, in charge of the Jerusalem file in President Mahmoud Abbas’ office, revealed Sunday information affirming that the settlements’ association gained the green light to take over Palestinian properties in Jerusalem, particularly in the old city, the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan as well as the neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah.
