Israeli army shoots 2 Palestinians in Gaza

Israeli fire wounded two Palestinians in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, sources said, dpa reported.
Witnesses said that the Israeli army entered the Palestinian areas near Gaza's middle borders with Israel. Bulldozers leveled land near security fence that acts as a borderline, while tanks backed by the bulldozers opened fire at Palestinian houses.

A Palestinian, 48, was moderately wounded in that shooting, said Adham Abu Selmia, a medical spokesman.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson said that a Palestinian boy was also slightly wounded by the shots when he was collecting scrap metal in northern Gaza Strip.

After its major military operation here three years ago, Israel has imposed a 300-meter-wide buffer zone along its borders with Gaza, which is controlled by Islamic Hamas movement.
In the West Bank, meanwhile, the Israeli army arrested three Palestinians in Jenin refugee camp, security sources said.

Israel's military operates in the West Bank, ruled by the Palestinian National Authority, on a daily basis.
