Palestinians Rally Outside UN Office in Solidarity with Striking Prisoner

Palestine News & Info Agency - WAFA - Palestinians Rally Outside UN Office in Solidarity with Striking Prisoner: RAMALLAH, February 20, 2012 (WAFA) – Dozens of Palestinians Sunday participated in a demonstration in front of the United Nations office in Ramallah in solidarity with Khader Adnan, the prisoner in Israeli jails who has been on hunger strike for 66 days, according to participants in the protest.

Protesters blew horns and banged on drums to draw attention of the UN officials to the situation of Adnan, whose health has deteriorated to a critical level, and to denounce UN overlooking Israeli occupation practices and violation of international law.

Adnan, 35, a leader in the Islamic Jihad from the Jenin area, in the north of the West Bank, went on hunger strike in December protesting his arrest without charge or trial.
