Israeli Police Severely Batters Youth in East Jerusalem

RAMALLAH, August 23, 2012 (WAFA) – Israeli police Thursday severely battered and arrested a 20 year-old Palestinian from Issawiya, an East Jerusalem neighborhood, according to a statement issued by the Palestinian prisoner’s club (PPC).
PPC said Israeli police battered Mohammad Abdallah before arresting him, injuring him seriously; serious bruises, injuries and critical fractures all over his body, including in the skull and his ribs.
 Abdallah told PPC that Israeli police handcuffed and blindfolded him, as well as took pictures of him before arresting him. He was transferred to Hadassah Ein Karem hospital in Jerusalem for treatment.
PPC said the police requested to extend the arrest of Abdallah and keep him under police guard in the hospital despite his critical condition.
It condemned this attack and called to open an investigation into the incident.
