Jordan does not pressure Palestinians to resume negotiations

RAMALLAH, Feb 6 - Secretary General of the Palestinian presidency Al-Tayeb Abdul Rahim denied media reports that Jordan is pressuring Palestinian President Mohmoud Abbas to resume negotiations with Israel.
The reports, which quoted unknown sources, lack credibility, accuracy, and are not baseless, he affirmed.
The Palestinian Presidency welcomed the Jordanian initiative of launching tours in occupied Palestine, to ensure that Israel is commited to the two-state solution, besides Tel Aviv acceptance on halting building of settlements, he stated.
This will lead the two sides to launch a new round of negotiations according to a specific timeframe to implement international laws, Abdul Rahim said.
Jordan, along with all other Arab nations, beside peace-loving countries will work on breaking the stalemate in the peace process, Abdul Rahim said.
Coordination will continue with Amman to serve the sides' mutual interests, he said.
Abdul Rahim believes that Jordan which offered all forms of support to the Palestinian Authority since its establishment, will not interfere in its internal affairs nor would impose any conditions, and would respect Palestinian sovereignty.
