Hunger striker carried to hospital in serious condition

RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) carried Palestinian detainee Sheikh Khader Adnan to a hospital in occupied Jerusalem in serious condition on Sunday after 50 days of hunger strike.

Sources close to relatives of Adnan told the PIC that the IOA carried him to the hospital’s Cardiology Division in serious condition, adding that the IOA allowed his lawyer to visit him for three minutes only. They added that Adnan was handcuffed and one of his feet was shackled.

They quoted the lawyer as saying that the hospital administration told him that Adnan’s condition was serious as he was vomiting yellow bile from his stomach and gallbladder.

Adnan’s family held the IOA fully responsible for his life because he went on strike for being held in administrative custody without trial or charge.

Meanwhile, Palestinian activists went on hunger strike on Sunday in front of the Jenin governorate building in solidarity with Adnan.
