Erekat: Threats to annul Oslo Accords are 'retroactive'.

Chief Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) negotiator Saeb Erekat criticized threats from Israeli officials that if the Palestinian Authority followed through with its statehood recognition bid at the United Nations, then Israel would not feel bound by the Oslo Accords, saying such threats were "retroactive."

Speaking with Channel 10 news, Erekat said that the government has never honored the agreements signed in 1993, and that it was time Israel recognized it was an occupying power.

Erekat echoed statements made by Palestinian officials that if Israel agreed to a two-state solution based on the pre-1967 lines, and halted settlement construction, the Palestinian would immediately begin negotiations.
