ISESCO Condemns Mosque Arson

Palestine News & Info Agency - WAFA

RABAT, September 6, 2011 (WAFA) - The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) has strongly denounced on Tuesday “the heinous crime” perpetrated by a group of extremist Jewish settlers who torched a mosque in the village of Qusra, south of Nablus, in the occupied West Bank.

ISESCO described in a statement such an act as “a horrible crime which consisted a grave violation of international laws, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and all relevant resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly, Security Council and Human Rights Council, and those of UNESCO General Conference.”

ISESCO called on the international community “to use all available measures to pressure the Israeli occupation authorities into stopping their repetitive acts of aggression against the Palestinian people and the Islamic sanctities in the Palestinian occupied territories.”

It explained that the burning of the Qusra mosque “is part the racist policy being implemented by Israel in the Palestinian territories, either through its occupation authorities or via the extremist Jewish settlers to whom it provides protection.”
