Palestine News & Info Agency - WAFA

KHAN YOUNIS, September 6, 2011 (WAFA) – One Palestinian was killed and four others injured, some seriously, on Tuesday in Israeli missile attack at Al-Qararah, in Khan Younis, south of the Gaza strip, said medical sources.

They said an Israeli reconnaissance plane targeted a group of Palestinians killing Khaled Abu Sahmud, 22, and injuring four others, who were transferred to Nasser hospital in Khan Younis. Abu Sahmud was described as a senior member of the military wing of the Popular Resistance Committees.

Witnesses said that three Israeli bulldozers and five tanks entered into the Gaza Strip east of Al-Qararah and razed agricultural land, shooting sporadically and randomly.

The Israeli forces destroyed trees planted near the borders and leveled houses it had demolished during its last war on Gaza.

The invasion was preceded by heavy shelling toward the Palestinian homes to prepare the area for the tanks and bulldozers to complete the work.
