PA security blocks anti wall march

PA security blocks anti wall march
:
TULKAREM, (PIC)-- Palestinian Authority security forces blocked on Sunday a weekly anti-wall march in Nazlat Issa village, north of Tulkarem city, organizers of the march said.

The organizers said they were informed by the PA security apparatuses that their weekly march was banned and that no more would be allowed.

They said that they were surprised at the new stand, noting that foreign solidarity activists usually take part in the march.

The organizers told the PIC reporter that they were infuriated over the PA “double standards” as it allows marches in cities organized by Fatah or the PLO while blocking those not organized by them.

They said the ban ran contrary to PA chief Mahmoud Abbas’s claims of supporting freedom of opinion and expression, as announced by Abbas in his last speech. He said that demonstrating against the wall was more important than other demonstrations.
