SALFIT, September 8, 2011 (WAFA) – Jewish settlers from Elkana settlement west of Masha, a village northwest of Salfit in the northern West Bank, Thursday razed Palestinian land behind the Apartheid Wall, said local sources.
Eid Amer, a resident, told WAFA that settlers razed more than six dunums of his land, adjacent to a street near Elkana.
Settlers take advantage of Palestinians’ inability to reach their land, which is located behind the Wall, to raze and destroy agricultural areas as well as annex and confiscate the land to expand settlements, he added.
“I can only resort to law, institutions concerned, and the Palestinian bureau in charge of Wall affairs to stop this unjust assault on my land,” said Amer.
In a related matter, Saleh Amer said that settlers broke into his land behind the Wall, put up two caravans and placed tools on his land for settlement expansion.
Amer said that this is not the first time settlers have attacked his land, but he had forced them out by law. He expressed fears that settlers aim to take over all Palestinian land located behind the Wall, for settlement activities.
