Venezuelan FM not very optimistic about the Palestinian affair

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolás Maduro has expressed his dire outlook of the potential recognition of the Palestinian State at the 66th meeting of the United Nations General Assembly.

"Everything suggests that the US sabotage and veto power at the Security Council could prevent what the entire humankind, the world, is crying out for -recognition of Palestine and its inclusion as the nation number 194 in the UN," he elaborated.

Venezuela's Chávez and Caricom leaders

Maduro reported that Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez had a telephone conversation on Thursday with the representatives of all the 14 Member States of the Caribbean Community or Caricom.

The talk, he said, was in the context of a meeting between him and the Caribbean senior officers outside the 66th meeting of the UN General Assembly on Wednesday.
