PARIS, Feb 7 (KUNA) -- France on Tuesday reiterated its support for the evolving reconciliation process between Palestinian factions, Fatah and Hamas, and said French authorities would work with any Palestinian government that accepts non-violence and the peace process.
Officials here repeated support for the efforts of Qatar, which has brokered an agreement between Fatah and Hamas, which have agreed to move forward with elections and a transitional government.
"France supports the Palestinian reconciliation process undertaken by President Abbas," Foreign Ministry spokesman Bernard Valero said.
But the official remarked that while France and the European Union are ready to work with a future Palestinian, national unity government, this future authority must be committed to "non-violence, a two-State solution and accept past accords, including the right of Israel to exist."
