ِAtton and Hamas MPs demand international intervention in favor of Palestinian prisoners

Hamas MPs in the West Bank took part in a rally in front of the Red Cross offices in El-Bireh city demanding greater solidarity with Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails especially the hunger striker Hana’a Shalabi.

They demanded more political action on the international level to demand big pressures on Israel to release all Palestinian prisoners especially the women and administrative detainees, who are held without trial or charge.

The lawmakers underlined that the Israeli policy of administrative detention is illegal since it is based on secret files presented in summary rather than ordinary trials, charging that all Israeli courts are illegal because they follow occupation rules

They wondered about the role of organizations that champion women’s rights and freedoms but give a blind eye when it comes to Palestinian women, referring to Shalabi who has been on hunger strike for 20 days demanding her freedom.

The four MPs, who took part in the rally, demanded a session for the Arab League allocated for the issue of Palestinian prisoners and the formation of an Arab committee to follow up and defend their case. They also asked the Arab countries, which have relations with Israel, to pressure it into releasing those prisoners.
