The Occupation Municipality in Jerusalem has issued a tender for the planning of 1,000 apartments for young couple in the Kiryat Yovel neighborhood.
The tender is part of a clear and build project and comes after a plan to build 53 luxury houses on the slopes of Kiryat Yovel was nixed. That plan was frozen by the Jerusalem District Court following opposition from Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat and local residents.
The new project will be built on a site where there currently stands 320 apartments in five buildings covering 12.5 dunams (12,500 square meters).
