Qatar condemns Israeli raids on Gaza Strip

Qatar has condemned the brutal Israeli raids on the Gaza Strip, which left a number of martyrs and wounded.
An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed in a statement to Qatar News Agency that the raids are obvious challenge and flagrant violation of the resolutions of the international legitimacy and threaten the security and stability in the region.
Qatar called on the Quartet and the Security Council to intervene immediately to stop such military escalation and compel Israel to respect the International Law.
Saudi Arabia has also strongly condemned  Israel’s continued brutal aggression on the Gaza Strip, and return to the assassination policy.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal described in his remarks yesterday, the Israeli aggression  as a blatant violation of all ethical principles and international laws and norms.
Prince Saud al-Faisal called on international community to shoulder its responsibilities towards stopping the Israeli policies of aggression, and protecting the Palestinian people. “This is the least that can be done, especially in light of the inability of the international community to compel Israel to take  the path of peace, according to the rules of international legitimacy resolutions, and peace initiatives including the Arab peace initiative,” he added.
New Israeli air strikes on the Gaza killed three Palestinians yesterday, raising the death toll in a latest round of violence to 18.
Hamas said it was talking with Egyptian officials in a bid to reach a truce with Israel, but warned that it expected the Jewish state to hold fire first and that talks had so far been unproductive.
The comments suggested little hope of a quick end to the clashes, which began on Friday afternoon with Israel’s killing of the chief of the Popular Resistance Committees group, and quickly spiralled into tit-for-tat violence.
As the conflict entered its third day, Israeli war planes carried out a string of air strikes, killing three people.
