HEBRON (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces are detaining locals and confiscating agricultural equipment in eight villages slated for demolition, residents told the Union of Agriculture Workers Committee.

Israel is planning to demolish eight villages in the south Hebron hills to use the land as military training ground.

All residents of Susiya and Rahwa have received eviction orders, and more than 29 villagers from Jinba, Isfey and Tuba have been ordered to leave, the union said in a statement.

Around 1,100 Palestinians, who are dependent on agriculture for their livelihoods, will be evicted from 45 square kilometers of land, the union added.
