RAMALLAH, September 2, 2012 (WAFA) - The Islamic-Christian Commission in Support of Jerusalem and Holy Sites, in a statement on Sunday, considered the Israeli municipality of West Jerusalem decision to confiscate 1800 meters of the southern land of the Mercy Gate (Bab el Rahmeh) cemetery in Jerusalem a new aggression on Waqf and holy sites.
It said the confiscation of the cemetery’s land is an attempt to Judiaze it and establish tourist pathways and Talmudic landmarks, aiming to erase its Islamic Arab character.
It added the confiscation was accompanied by the building of fake Jewish graves in the vicinity of al-Aqsa mosque; all part of the Israeli policy to Judiaze Jerusalem.
Israel is violating the sanctity of Muslims and Christians holy sites in Jerusalem through attacking mosques, churches and other places of worship, as well as through attacking the dead in their graves, it said.
