NABLUS, October 1, 2011 (WAFA) – Jewish settlers Saturday set fire to olive fields near Huwwara, a village south of Nablus, said local sources.
Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian activist monitoring Israeli settlement activities in the northern West Bank, said settlers from the nearby settlement of Yitzhar set fire to the field and escaped as the fire gutted dozens of dunums.
The attack is the latest in Jewish settlers’ violent campaign targeting Palestinian civilians and properties in retaliation against the Palestinian application of statehood to the United Nations.
