Physicians for Human Rights-Israel: Refrain from Gaza attack

BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Physicians for Human Rights-Israel said Wednesday that attacks on the Gaza Strip would fail and urged the Israeli government to rethink the campaign it started by assassinating Hamas military commander Ahmad al-Jaabari.

"Violence has failed previously and will fail again, as well as continue to generate hatred and vengeance," Physicians for Human Rights-Israel said in a statement.

"As physicians, our first mission is to prevent damage," the group said. We are those who encounter the victims of violence and as physicians we are obligated to demand, before more people are killed and injured, that their lives, health and rights are of the highest priority.

"Do not embark on operation that may cause killing in our name."
