Five palestinians killed, 22 injured in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza
Five Palestinians were killed and 22 were injured at dawn yesterday in two Israeli air strikes targeting a sports club in Beit Lahiya, north of Gaza, and a tunnel in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, according to medical sources.
Israeli F16 warplanes bombed the sports club, located in a very crowded residential area in Beit Lahiya, killing two Palestinians and injuring 19 others including three women and four children, two of whom are in critical condition.
The airstrike on a tunnel in Rafah killed three Palestinians and injured four. One of the dead was found immediately after the air strike, and the bodies of two others, who were declared missing, were found hours later under the rubble.
In a related matter, Israeli special forces raided the evacuated Dugit settlement northwest of Beit Lahiya, north of the Strip, firing an artillery shell in the area.
