ANKARA, Sept 20 (KUNA) -- Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu renewed on Tuesday his country's full support to Palestinian bid of statehood and a membership seat in the United Nations.
The remark by the minister was quoted Turkish news agency (Anadolu) who is currently New York for the UN General Assembly (UNGA) 66th session.
Davutoglu said that the Palestinian right to establish a statehood and recognition from inside the UN, a move which could not be denied, noting that his country strongly support such right and effort by the Palestinians.
The statements comes after an extensive meeting between Davutoglu and his US counterpart Hillary Clinton, at the international organization, which highlighted various vital issues, among them Palestinian efforts and rights to gain statehood and international recognition through the UNGA.
Turkish media outlets said that Clinton asked from the Turkish side to persuade to abandon such efforts, but Davutoglu rejected such calls, adding that Ankara will support such efforts inside the general assembly.
