UFree calls for pressuring Israel to provide medical care for hunger strikers

UFree calls for pressuring Israel to provide medical care for hunger strikers

GENEVA, (PIC)-- The European network to support the rights of Palestinian Prisoners-UFree called on the Red Cross and the world health organization to necessarily intervene to pressure the Israeli regime to provide proper medical care for the hunger strikers in its jails.
UFree said two of the Palestinian hanger strikers were transferred to Assaf Harofeh hospital due to their poor health conditions, while hunger striker Ayman Sharawna were blackmailed into breaking his strike in exchange for a palliative injection.
It said that what happened to prisoner Sharawna was a humanitarian crime and noted that the prisoners' right to full medical treatment is enshrined in international law, but Israel deliberately neglects the detainees medically to punish them.
