IOA refuses to allow treatment of cancer-plagued detainee:
AL-KHALIL, (PIC)-- The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) is refusing to allow treatment of Naim Natshe, who is plagued with cancer, ever since his detention more than seven months ago, his wife said.
She told Quds Press that the health condition of her husband, 56, has worsened as a result, adding that Natshe, who is held in Ofer prison, also suffers from heart problems, diabetes, and hypertension.
The wife said that the IOA even clamped on her husband another six months of administrative custody, without trial or charge.
She said that her husband, who is a Hamas leader in Al-Khalil, was receiving chemotherapy before his detention in May 2011, and his condition deteriorated due to the stoppage of the treatment.
She said that the family had appealed to human rights groups, the Red Cross, the ministry of prisoners, and the prisoners’ associations to pressure the IOA into allowing treatment of her husband but to no avail.
