He told WAFA after meeting Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal in Cairo that Fatah and Hamas agree that ending the division is a must and that both parties must put aside their factional interests.
Ahmad, however, said some parties he did name who will be affected by ending the division were not pleased about achieving the reconciliation.
He said he discussed with Meshaal the upcoming meeting between President Mahmoud Abbas and Meshaal, which is expected to take place around the end of this month prior to a meeting for the PLO restructuring committee scheduled for February 2 in Cairo.
The two leaders are supposed to agree on the government formation in their upcoming meeting.
The Fatah official said there was a delay in the implementation of the reconciliation agreement, particularly in Gaza, but that things were gradually picking up.Palestine News & Info Agency - WAFA
