Egyptian ambassador to the Palestinian territories Yasser Othman accompanied with his deputy Tariq Abdul-Hamid have broken fast with the exile-threatened Jerusalem politicians as the men mark their 405th day in asylum. They joined scores of local Jerusalemites for nighttime prayers.
During the visit, the politicians, two MPs and a former minister, brought up several important issues regarding the Palestinians as well as the latest developments in Sunday’s meeting between Hamas and Fatah leaders in Cairo. They also spoke about changes happening among Arab countries in the region.
The men, who are sitting-in at the Red Cross in the city’s Sheikh Jarrah district, showed appreciation for the visit and expression of concern, and also for the Egypt’s role in Arab and Muslim issues, especially those concerning the Palestinians.
It was the fourth time the ambassador paid visit to the politicians since they began their ongoing sit-in.
