RAMALLAH, August 3, 2011 (WAFA) –Fatah, the largest Palestinian political faction, Wednesday called for a united action and full support for efforts to go to United Nations in September to get recognition and full membership.
Fatah spokesman, Fayez Abu Aitah, said in a press release that “going to the UN in September to seek full admission and recognition of a Palestinian state based on 1967 borders is considered a real struggle and an important historical step, which will define the national strategy for the next phase.”
He called upon all political factions and parties, as well as civil society organizations to stand united to show a national consensus to achieve international recognition of an independent Palestinian state.
Political factions and civil society organization have called for mass protests in the coming weeks in support of the Palestinian plan.Palestine News & Info Agency
