Israeli troops fire tear gas at childrens' rally

QALQILIYA (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces fired tear gas at a childrens' demonstration on Friday near Qalqiliya in the northern West Bank, a Ma'an correspondent reported.

The weekly rally is held to protest Israel's closure of the eastern entrance to Kafr Qaddum, a village near Israel's separation wall.

The eastern gate to the village has been closed for nine years.

A Ma'an reporter said most of the demonstrators were under 12 years old.
