Shaath: Netanyahu Wants to kill Palestinian UN Bid by Military Escalations

RAMALLAH, August 18, 2011 (WAFA) - Fatah Commissioner of International Relations Nabil Shaath, said on Thursday that the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to abort the Palestinians’ efforts to gain UN recognition and export Israel’s internal crisis, by the military escalations.

In a press release by Fatah international relations office, Shaath said that Israel want to find an excuse to carry out its collective punishment against the Palestinian people, which is considered a war crime aiming to frustrate all serious efforts by the Palestinian authority and factions to avoid armed confrontations.

He added that “the Israeli insanity will not hold back the Palestinian leadership from going to the UN; on the contrary it will give us a stronger motivation to continue our move.”

He called on the international community to move fast to stop the Israeli aggression, holding Israel fully responsible for what is happening and for the serious repercussions, which might lead the area into the unknown.

He condemned the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, which killed six Palestinians and wounded a number of others.

The release said that Shaath started making urgent international calls to explain the reality of what is happening and clarify the Israeli goals behind the aggression on the besieged Gaza.
