Fatah: Israel’s Refusal of Peace Escalates Conflict in the Region

RAMALLAH, July 26, 2011 (WAFA) - Fatah Spokesman Osama Qawasmi, Tuesday, said that the Israeli government’s refusal of peace escalates conflicts and racism in the world as well as threatens the public peace and security.

In a press statement issued by Fatah’s office for Information and Culture, Qawasami stressed that any solution that meets the aspiration and rights of the Palestinian people will be the reference of peace in the region.

He added that the situation in the Occupied Territory is a time ticking bomb, which will explode in any moment due to the blockage of the political process and to Netanyahu’s government’s refusal to respond to peace demands in the region in addition to its determination to escalate its continuous aggression against Palestinians.

Qawasmi said, “What the world is witnessing of terrorist bombings and the blood shedding of innocents come as a direct result to the mentality of racism, extremism and rejection of the other.”

He called upon the international world to pressure Netanyahu and his government to end occupation in order to protect the human community from the risk of international terrorism and extremism.
