HEBRON, July 18, 2011 (WAFA) – Israeli soldiers Monday raided Beit Ummar cemetery, north of Hebron, during a funeral and injured three Palestinians, said spokesman of the National Committee against the Wall and Settlements, Mohammad Awad.
He told WAFA that Israeli soldiers fired tear gas, stun bombs and rubber bullets at participants in the funeral, injuring three people, including two who work as field researchers with human rights organizations. The injured were transferred to the town’s clinic.
Israel claims that stones are thrown from the village at Israeli settlers' cars passing on the main road between Bethlehem and Hebron. It normally responds with indiscriminate shooting of tear gas canisters and stun grenades at the village.
